Beauty DIY : dalmatian nails

Topshop unique's nails from their AW11 collection, which was inspired by a Dalmatian print. So I thought I'd recreate this AW Trend.

All you need
I'm using this collection 2000 black nail polish which you can get from boots for about £1.99

This is a White nail polish by natural collection which you can buy from boots for around £1.99

if you have an old eyeliner you can use this as a thin brush to do the Dalmatian dots on your nails. Or a really thin painting brush will do.

Paint all of your nails White. I used 3 layers to make the nails look perfect. Let them dry for about 1-3 minutes.

Use the eyeliner brush to apply the black spots onto the White nails. Make sure you clean the eyeliner brush before using it to do your nails. Dip the brush into the black nail polish and apply dots to your nails be as creative as you want.

Voila
Add a clear top coat to your nails after they are dry and this will make your nail polish last longer.

Trend alert: Dalmatian trend

I loved the hair and make at Topshop unique's AW11 collection at fashion week. To add more affect to the dalmatian trend the hair and small looked so cute. The dalmatian print is going to be big this autumn winter, but don't go too over board like Cruella. :)

The hair was inspired by Cheryl Cole, when she had a similar style during last years X Factor.

Another trend that everyone loved at new York fashion week was the dalmation print nail design. Every model had this on the topshop unique catwalk show. And numerous members of the audience had the print on their nails. At first the thought of dalmation print on my nails looks a bit childish. But when I saw the print on the nails I absolutey loved it.

Check out topshop's website to see the full collection.and behind the scenes images from the show. I love the pattern so much I'm going to try the pattern on my nails and make a tutorial how to get the AW11 trend.

Aztec nails

Scouted at lollapalooza festival by vogue, I love this aztec look.the colours are amazing together. Very festival inspired.

I loved the tribal inspired nail art so much I thought I would try the design myself. This design was so cheap to do.

How to get the Aztec look

I used a base coat on the nail first, so the bright colours doesn't stain the nail. I'm using "the edge base coat" which I bought at a beauty wholesale but any base coat will do.

I chose these three colours, all available to purchase from boots at around £2.00 each. This pale colours work really well together. Apply the different colours to your nails.

Apply the colour to the nail use two or three coats to get a matte look.

When the nail polish is dry, now it's time to add the tribal lines. I used these nail art pens which are available from "body care" which cost £1.99 for a pack of three and are available in lots od different colours. For my nails I'm going to use the purple and White nail art pen.

If you have a steady hand drawing the tribal lines onto the nail is pretty easy, but if you take your time. You can get the look. I drew three diagonal lines from the corner of the nail.

Then add three horizontal lines in the middle of the line connecting them to the other lines.
You can try your own designs. I fouund it easier to draw different designs on paper to practice.

If you want your aztec nails to last longer why not try "Sally Hensons diamond finish" it costs around £6.00 but it's a great way to finsh off your nails. It has a lovely gloss finish and it's a tough top coat so your nail colour will last longer.
